The Beaverhead County Justice Court is here to administer and process to completion traffic, criminal, civil and small claims actions in a judicious and timely manner.
Citations issued by the Beaverhead County Sheriff’s Office, Montana Highway Patrol, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, Motor Carrier Services of the Department of Transportation, and Montana Department of Livestock are handled in Justice Court. Misdemeanor criminal charges filed by the Beaverhead County Attorney’s office are also handled in the Justice Court. All felony cases that occur within Beaverhead County are initially filed through Justice Court.
Justice Court processes civil actions up to $7,000.00, as well as Small Claims actions up to $3,000.00. Justice Court also issues orders of protection and search warrants.
The Justice of the Peace is further authorized to perform wedding ceremonies and does so in her office and after hours upon request.

Beaverhead County Justice Court accepts credit card payment by phone or internet through Official Payments Corporation. Cards accepted are American Express, Discover, Master Card, and Visa. Official Payments Corporation will assess the cardholder a convenience fee.

BOND: To post bond, you will need the citation number located on the upper right hand corner of your ticket. Citation type is written at top-center (i.e. Sheriff Dept., Hwy Patrol, Motor Carrier, etc.)
